Quand les possessifs ne servent pas à introduire un nouveau référent : analyse de corpus

Abstract
This article presents a corpus study of possessive noun phrases in French. Possessive determiners are usually presented as determiners dedicated to the first mention of referents, which is not always the case. The study presented in this paper shows that in subsequent mentions, possessive noun phrases designate referents that can be important in the text, and which are generally humans linked to central characters in the text.
Résumé
Cet article présente une étude des SN possessifs en corpus. Les determinants possessifs sont habituellement présentés comme des determinants dédiés à la première mention des référents, ce qui n’est pas toujours le cas. Ainsi, notre étude montre qu’en mention subséquente, les SN possessifs désignent des référents qui peuvent être importants dans le récit, et qui sont en général des humains liés à des personnages centraux dans le texte.
