Eco-Translatology is the interdisciplinary translation study with an ecological perspective, which considers translation as an adaptive selection activity with overall universality. Glocalization Strategy combines the globalization strategy of translation with the localization strategy, emphasizing the integration and interaction between global and local cultures, and requiring translators to strike a balance between them. Cultural relics, with their historical and cultural inheritance, are significant carriers for the dissemination of local culture to the world. This study examines the English translation of the cultural relics in the National Museum of China from the standpoint of eco-translatology and guided by the theory’s central tenet, three-dimensional transformation, in terms of linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions. It investigates whether the translation process strikes a balance between globalization and localization in order to accomplish the goal of cross-cultural communication, as well as highlighting the issues in certain instances. This will help to advance the development of cultural relics translation, strengthen the promotion of Chinese culture, and enhance China’s reputation internationally.
