The research on subtitle translation in China does not yet have independence and autonomy because the applied theories mostly draw on the mature theoretical achievements of foreign countries. Therefore, ecological translation studies, as an original translation theory in China, has its unique advantages. Guided by the theory of Eco-translatology, this paper takes the subtitle translation of the American drama 2 Broke Girls as the research object, and researches from the perspective of three-dimensional transformation, and deeply analyzes the specific application of the general research paradigm constructed by Eco-translatology in subtitle translation in specific environments. By analyzing the subtitle translation examples of 2 Broke Girls, it is found that the theoretical framework of Eco-translatology can effectively deal with the linguistic and cultural challenges in subtitling translation, and better convey the intrinsic meaning and cultural information of film and television works to the audience, which provides a new perspective for subtitle translation research.
