Abstract
Buleleng Regency in North Bali is known for its multicultural enclaves where diverse ethnic and religious communities have coexisted harmoniously for centuries. This diversity provides a valuable foundation for education, particularly in shaping tolerance and intercultural understanding among students. This study aims to explore how SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja internalizes the socio-cultural values of Buleleng’s multicultural enclaves into social studies learning. Using a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design, the research involved teachers and students as key participants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis, and examined with qualitative techniques. The findings indicate that the school has developed several strategies to integrate multicultural values, including curriculum adaptation with local content, participatory and contextual learning methods, and extracurricular programs that foster intercultural dialogue. These practices transform classrooms into living laboratories that bridge enclave experiences with academic learning. The study concludes that internalizing multicultural socio-cultural values in social studies contributes significantly to nurturing tolerance, empathy, and respect for diversity. The implication of this research lies in offering a practical model of multicultural-based social studies learning that can inspire other schools to strengthen social cohesion in diverse contexts.
