Abstract
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the evaluation of higher education has received widespread attention, but there are still shortcomings in the challenges of applying AI in the evaluation of English translation teaching. This paper analyzes the current situation and challenges of the application of AI in the evaluation of university English translation teaching. It is concluded that the use of AI in the evaluation of university English translation teaching presents the advantages of assessing efficient quality, realizing process evaluation, and diversified personalized evaluation. However, there are deficiencies in technological development, challenges in transforming the role of teachers, and the emergence of data bias and discrimination. Based on this, this paper puts forward the following suggestions: optimize the development of AI evaluation technology, strengthen the improvement of teachers’ digital literacy, and promote the implementation of the human-machine collaboration evaluation model.
