Abstract
With the development of the times, the pace of life of people in the city is getting faster, and mental health problems are increasingly becoming a social issue of concern. Numerous studies have confirmed that there is a significant relationship between personality traits and emotion regulation and interpersonal relationships, and at the same time, malignant psychological incidents among college students continue to occur, and research on the psychological situation of college students has been emphasized by researchers. In view of this, this paper attempts to explore how varying levels of neuroticism influence college students’ emotion regulation strategies and interpersonal relationships, and how neuroticism, emotion regulation, and interpersonal relationships affect each other. This study used questionnaire measures to examine interpersonal relationships with 180 college students, starting with personality traits and emotion regulation. The results found that emotion regulation had a fully mediating effect on neuroticism and interpersonal relationships. Personality development education and emotion regulation ability of college students should be emphasized.
