Abstract
As China’s fitness industry shifts from scale expansion to quality-oriented competition, weak post-purchase activation and limited continued spending have become major challenges for chain fitness brands. Focusing on LeFit Fitness, this paper combines a case-study approach, secondary data analysis, and analysis of publicly available content to examine how private-domain operations support member activation and continued spending. Evidence from corporate disclosures, industry reports, listed-company filings, and Chinese and English scholarship shows that competition has shifted from membership sales to activation and retention. LeFit’s operating chain—public-traffic acquisition, proprietary-platform conversion, in-store fulfillment, and ongoing member operations—suggests that the value of private-domain operations lies less in short-term promotion than in reducing decision risk through convenience, professionalism, transparent rules, and lightweight community support. Public evidence further indicates that the key loss in the member funnel occurs after purchase but before the first visit. Continuous content engagement, low-barrier tasks, and credible service commitments are therefore critical to repeat use and retention.
