Faire groupe : l’ethos discursif associatif et ses effets praxéologiques

Résumé

Ce texte s’intéresse à la constitution d’un collectif associatif en tant qu’ensemble de pratiques langagières situées. Dans les associations, la cohésion du groupe s’opère autour d’un projet et de valeurs communes, fixés par des textes institutionnels. Or ces textes ont un pouvoir d’action et de coordination des activités sociales. L’ethos discursif formé dans ces textes, et ses reprises en écho par les membres de l’association, produisent le collectif, manifestent l’appartenance au groupe et ordonnent les relations entre les personnes présentes. Nous étudions ici les effets praxéologiques de cet ethos discursif, à partir d’un corpus de textes écrits et d’interactions orales, constitué au cours d’une étude ethnographique de longue durée dans une association parisienne qui accueille des personnes migrantes et sans domicile.

Resumen

Making a group : the discursive ethos of an association and its praxeological effects. This paper focuses on the assembly process of making an associative collective, as a set of situated language practices. In an association, the cohesion of the group operates around a common project and common values, fixed by institutional texts. These texts have a power of action and of coordination on social activities. The discursive ethos formed in these texts, and its echoic repetitions by the members of the association, produce the community, manifest the belonging to the group and organize the relations between people. In this paper, we study the praxeological effects of this discursive ethos, using a corpus of written texts and oral interactions, that we built during a long-term ethnographic research in a Parisian association that welcomes immigrant and homeless people.
