Analysis of Mental Workload in Sugar Factory Production Workers Using the NASA-TLX Method

Company XYZ is a sugar manufacturing company where it has several processing sequence including milling until crystallization. Methods used in this research are NASA-TLX in order to measure mental workload of employees caused by a severe work environment such as dust and gas exposure, and a not optimum temperature. The findings shed a light on the significant of Own Performance (OP) among the others parameter of NASA-TLX. Showing that the main component of workers’ stress are coming from the performance itself with 534.333 index of OP. With the laboratory works at the company makes the top compared to the other jobs. This study shows company XYZ to improve in certain aspects. This will help improvements to be on target.
