An Overview of Character Studies in the Thunderstorm

Since 2010, the research field of The Thunderstorm has been influenced by several factors, leading to a continuous broadening of research perspectives and a deepening of research depth, especially in the field of characters’ study. This study systematically analyzes and summarizes the field of characters’ studies of The Thunderstorm by collecting, screening, organizing relevant literature from 2010 to 2024. Through the study, it is found that: first, the research in this period shows a diversified and in-depth trend, scholars analyze the character of the main characters in the work, their psychological motives and the intricate relationship between them through different methods. Meanwhile, the research pays attention to some of the secondary characters, which provide an important perspective for the in-depth study of The Thunderstorm. Second, there was a shift in research topics during this period, as research shifted from a superficial approach to characters to a diverse profiling of characters and a focus on secondary characters. The research methods in this period shows a diversified trend. Based on this, it explores the insufficient research on the characters of The Thunderstorm from 2010 to 2024 as well as the problems. It strives to advance The Thunderstorm characteristic research and related studies.
