Abstract
Education constitutes the foundational pillar of a society’s development. Home-school collaboration is a crucial link in the education system. Most current research focuses on the direct impact of home-school cooperation on academic performance, while there is relatively little discussion on the intrinsic connection between the two. This study systematically reviewed relevant literature and deeply explored the mechanism through which home-school cooperation affects the academic performance and mental health of teenagers. The research found that home- school cooperation can promote students’ academic performance and mental health by enhancing learning motivation and improving parent-child communication. Parent-child communication played a partial mediating role between home-school collaboration and academic achievement in the three- way conference. In conclusion, home-school cooperation plays a crucial role in the education of teenagers. Educators and parents should strengthen collaboration by establishing more effective communication mechanisms and cooperative models to optimize home-school partnerships and foster conducive educational environments for adolescents’ holistic development. Future research should examine the specific impact pathways of home- school cooperation across diverse family backgrounds and educational settings.
