Abstract
This study relates to the Sustainable Development programme, focusing on the needs of female tourists. The problem is ‘How can the DON model be applied in the design and development of tourism on Pramuka Island?’ This study aims to apply the DON model to the design of tourism policy and tourism development on Pramuka Island. The scope covers the needs of female tourists, facilities and infrastructure, and tourism design and development. The research design used a phenomenological paradigm with qualitative data collection methods in the form of observations, documentation, small group discussions, and previous research studies. The researcher acted as an informant and female tourists were the subjects. The data were analyzed using the DON (data, optimization, and needs) model. The results show that the needs of female tourists in terms of existing facilities and infrastructure are still inadequate; the local community and government have not fully utilized and optimized the potential of Pramuka Island. The researcher hopes that there will be further integrated research on tourism development in the fields of resources, technology, food, health, the environment, and other areas, to meet the needs of female tourists on Pramuka Island.
