Non-Material Social Facts in Madurese Songs as Supporting Maritime and Agrarian Knowledge for Students in Madura

Apart from being entertainment, Madurese songs also function as a medium to express feelings and reflect Madurese social forms and cultural values. This research aims to describe non-material social facts in Madurese songs so that they can be used as support for students' maritime and agrarian knowledge. The method in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The object of this research is that Madurese songs contain maritime and agrarian aspects. The data in this research are the lyrics of Madurese songs which contain non-material social facts. The results of this research are the existence of non-material social facts (morality, collective conscience, collective representation, and social currents) in Madurese songs. Non-material social facts related to maritime and agrarian affairs are the life of orèng majăngan, akarang activities, activities at the palabbhuwăn Kamal, the origin of tombhăk nangghălă, the use of ronjhăngan, ghu-toghu sabă activities, Mosèm Anyè activities, the importance of water, and farmers' activities in the morning. These non-material social facts can be used as teaching material so that students gain supporting knowledge about maritime and agrarian affairs in Madura.
