Women’s Leadership Style in Influencing Innovative Work Behavior

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of participative leadership style and service on innovative work behavior. The method used is quantitative, with 116 female batik business owners in Central Java as research respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire and processed using SPSS. The regression test results show that service leadership style has a positive and significant effect on innovative behavior, while participative leadership style does not. The discussion explains that this finding is consistent with the theory of gender in leadership, where organizational context moderates the influence of participative style. Servant leadership is in line with women’s characteristics, so it can encourage innovation. This study proves that a servant leadership style can increase employees’ innovative behavior. Servant leadership principles such as listening to employees’ aspirations, understanding their needs, and providing autonomy and support are important things that continue to be applied.
