Abstract
There have been many studies that have improved emotional intelligence for interpersonal communication in various populations. However, there has been no study that addresses how these two variables are in adolescent girls. Where adolescent girls have different characteristics than boys. This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence on interpersonal communication in adolescent girls. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative approach. The subjects of this study consisted of 816 individuals taken using accidental sampling. The hypothesis test method used in this study is a simple regression test. Emotional intelligence was measured using the Indonesian version of the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (SEIS) (α = .776) and interpersonal communication using the Indonesian interpersonal communication scale (α = .775). The results of this study show that there is a significant influence between emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication in adolescent girls (R2 = .118, B = .32, p < .001). This study confirms the importance of emotional intelligence in improving the quality of interpersonal communication in adolescent girls. By strengthening emotional intelligence, adolescents can be more confident in communicating, building healthy relationships, and facing social challenges more adaptively.
