Abstract
With the changes in social development in recent years, the problem of music education in Hong Kong has been widely discussed, but there are still shortcomings. This paper sorts out the development trends, advantages and challenges of music education in Hong Kong in recent years. The analysis shows that Hong Kong’s education government supports the improvement of the education system, the application of local music technology tools is mature, and the school community cooperation resources are rich. At the same time, there are some obvious problems, such as the superficial application of information technology, the uneven distribution of inter-school resources, the gap between the integration of Chinese and Western music teachers’ ability and information ability, the formalization of collaborative education and the gap between the rich and the poor. Based on this, this paper puts forward the following suggestions, such as optimizing the allocation of resources, strengthening the construction of local and national music education, improving and classifying teacher training, constructing and improving the collaborative mechanism, so as to provide reference for the long-term development of equity, depth and localization of music education in Hong Kong.
