Comment outiller l’étude des autorités avec l’analyse de réseaux dans les grammaires françaises des XVI^e et XVII^e siècles

Résumé

L’article propose d’outiller, par le recours à l’analyse de réseaux, l’étude des références, c’est-à-dire les mentions et les citations d’autorités dans les textes métalinguistiques. Il s’agit, d’une part, de présenter les principes méthodologiques qui ont présidé à l’élaboration d’une visualisation sous forme de graphes de réseau : la modélisation et la construction d’une base de données de références et la génération du graphe dans un logiciel approprié. Il est question, d’autre part, de décrire les aspects liés à l’interprétation des graphes de réseaux, le but étant d’explorer le potentiel de l’outil dans l’histoire des idées linguistiques.

Resumen

Tooling the study of authorities with network analysis in 16^th and 17^th French grammars. The article proposes to tool the study of references, i.e. mentions and citations of authorities in the metalinguistic texts, by using network analysis. On the one hand, we present the methodological principles for creating a network graph: the modelling and construction of a database of references and the generation of the graph in a dedicated software. On the other hand, we describe the aspects related to the interpretation of network graphs representing references, with the aim of exploring the potential of this tooling in the history of linguistic ideas.
