Classical female figures like Medea and He Hongyao are prevalent in Western and Chinese literary tragedies. Despite their distinct literary backgrounds, these avenging women face diverse destinies. This paper focuses on analyzing the fate, outcomes, and the representation of female consciousness and tragic reasons in these two avenging female characters to delve deeper into the differences in female consciousness in Western and Chinese literature.
