Abstract
In the context of globalization, the transcultural communication of Chinese films has become a significant pathway for enhancing national cultural soft power. However, due to cultural differences and cognitive barriers, Chinese films often encounter the “cultural discount” phenomenon during their international dissemination. Grounded in theories of Transcultural Communication, Cognitive Schema, Psychological Distance Theory and Reception theory, this study constructs an integrated analytical framework. Through a comparative analysis of four representative Chinese films from 2025: Ne Zha 2, Nobody, The Lychee Road, The Stage. This research investigates the reception mechanisms of traditional Chinese cultural symbols in transcultural communication.
