This paper analyzes the present situation of cooperative education in China’s art disciplines, points out the deficiencies during the development and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions based on its approach of “introduction, integration and innovation” while studying the case of the Birmingham Institute of Fashion and Creative Art. It aims to cultivate a group of new design talents with design creativity, practical ability and international vision by inheriting Chinese excellent traditional culture to strengthen cultural self-confidence.
